In reality the Littlebrook Valley Railway is an 00 gauge (1:76th scale) model railway, the layout is not based on any partiular location and is entirely fictional. The Littlebrook Valley Railway is very loosely based on plan 5 in the PECO Setrack 00/HO Planbook. The current configuration is a double tracked station, goods siding, goods shed and headshunt with a continuous run (ie; oval). The oval part of the layout is hidden by a cardboard painted backscene.

OperationsThe LVR is operated by a Hornby DCC Select unit. A fiddleyard behind the backscene can hold up to two complete trains in sidings and one more on the main loop whilst another train is shunting at the front of the layout. The headshunt in the goods yard enables one train to be shunted in the yard and at the same time a train can also be running around the loop.
Trackwork The track on the LVR is quite a mixture of Hornby, Lima and PECO products.
Scenery
Until recently there was no scenery on the LVR only a bare baseboard. However this was changed almost overnight with the addition of Hornby Balast inlay and Woodland Scenics Readygrass. Building are mostly card kits from Metcalfe along with plastic kits from Model Power, Ratio and Hornby.
Motive Power This is the bit you've all been waiting for isn't it! Well here goes! The LVR locomotive fleet is a balanced mix of steam and diesel.Click here to find the dedicated motive power page.
